Patricia Skeriotis Presents : Vacation! – Final Part (Maui)

The Island of Maui!

Of all the Hawaiian islands, Maui is perhaps the most representative of all Hawaii. It has everything from the sugar white beaches and crystal blue water, to surfing and diving, to local cuisine and Luau.

Whether you taking a trip down the Highway to Hana and stopping at black sand beaches and beautiful waterfalls as you wind down this road or spending the day snorkeling amongst the tropical fish and sea turtles at the coral reefs,

Don’t forget to bring cash so that you can stop by one of the mom and pop roadside food stands and get some fresh banana bread or a smoothie made with locally grown fruit.

You won’t be disappointed ending your day watching the sun set over Haleakala (the largest dormant volcano in the world) or heading to a Luau for a show of dancing which is traditionally a prayer to the gods.

There is much history to be learned on the island, too. One could visit the Iao Valley, where the tribes of the island used to battle for dominance. Hula dancing is itself considered a form of prayer to their gods.

Should Patricia Skeriotis and her faithful doggy companion Myko choose this tropical island for their big vacation?
