New Year, New Hairdo for Myko Part 6

Myko wants to start the year off on the right paw with a new hairdo

In order to get himself ready for a new start, Myko wants to get his hair done to give him fresh confidence and a fierce new look to make all the other pups jealous of his new hairdo.

Now that Myko has decided on a straight leg cut for his legs, it’s time to decide what look he wants for his ears.

He has three options for this as well:

1. ) The Shaved Ear

This  cut is exactly what it sounds like it should be. The ear is shaved shorter than the rest of the fur on the head.

2. ) The Shaped Ear

This look goes with the Teddy Bear hairdo. The ears are trimmed to make the head appear round.

3. ) The Long and Silky

The third and final ear hairdo is the result of letting the naturally long and silky hair of the Shih Tzu’s ears to do it’s thing. This requires more upkeep than the other two.

New Year, New Hairdo for Myko Part 5

Myko wants to start the year off on the right paw with a new hairdo

In order to get himself ready for a new start, Myko wants to get his hair done to give him fresh confidence and a fierce new look to make all the other pups jealous of his new hairdo.

Sometimes a new haircut can be as simple as a minor change, like a new look just for your leg fur.

Myko has been looking at these three leg fur looks:

1. ) The Straight Leg

In this look the hair on the legs is the same length as the hair on the body.

2. ) The Bell Bottom

Here, the hair is trimmed shorter at the top and left long at the bottom.

3. ) The Boot Cut

In the third look, the leg fur is allowed to grow longer than the rest of the fur to be feathery and straight.

With all these options, Myko needs your help deciding more than ever! Comment with your ideas!

New Year, New Hairdo for Myko Part 4

Myko wants to start the year off on the right paw with a new hairdo

In order to get himself ready for a new start, Myko wants to get his hair done!

This will give him fresh confidence and a fierce new look to make all the other pups jealous of his new hairdo.

Hairdo Number 4
Top Knot Show Cut

Perhaps the most glamorous hairdo for a Shih Tzu is the Top Knot Show Cut. This is the dramatic next step from the Practical Top Knot.

This style is usually reserved for the show Shih Tzu in your life. It requires multiple brushings throughout the day to maintain the shiny color and a more sturdy clip to hold all of that fur out of the eyes because this haircut is more the absence of one. The hair is neatly trimmed, but allowed to grow long.

For his third option, Myko is looking at the Practical Top Knot. This look is usually worn with longer, combed fur all over. (A Shih Tzu needs lots of combing and brushing no matter the hairdo). The Top Knot features a fountain of hair cascading down  from a clip or bow of gathered hair at the  top of the head.

Though this is an extremely popular and iconic hairdo for Shih Tzus, Myko is concerned that he might look like a girl with this style.

New Year, New Hairdo for Myko Part 2

In order to get himself ready for a new start, Myko wants to get his hair done to give him fresh confidence and a fierce new look to make all the other pups jealous of his new hairdo.

His second idea for a new look is called the Teddy Bear cut. This hairdo is very similar to the Puppy Cut Myko os considering. The only difference being the round shape of the fur around the face to make Myko actually look like a teddy bear (hence the name).

This is another low upkeep do that’s sure to win the hearts of anyone who sees Myko prancing out and about.

New Year, New Hairdo for Myko Part 1

Myko wants to start the year off on the right paw with a new hairdo

In order to get himself ready for a new start, Myko wants to get his hair done to give him fresh confidence and a fierce new look to make all the other pups jealous of his new hairdo.

His first idea for a new look is called the Puppy Cut. This hairdo will take years off and make Myko feel like a young puppy again!

In addition to being adorable, this hairdo is also quite easy to maintain. With regular brushing, Myko should have no problem looking sharp for any occasion, whether it be afternoon walkies or a date at the dog park.

This cut gives Myko 1 to 2 inches of fur all over with options on growing out his chest or ear fur to make a bolder statement.
